Shane Pryor, who was in custody on a 2020 murder charge, slipped past his police escort while being taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) just before noon, Marshals said.

Five minutes later he was recorded on video in the lobby of the CHOP Hub for Clinical Collaboration building.

Authorities said he asked an employee to use a phone but left after being told no. Marshals originally believed Pryor was traveling in a stolen Ford F-150, but said Thursday afternoon that the truck is "no longer being sought as part of this investigation."

“Shane Pryor is a dangerous and desperate individual and we will use every available resource to bring him back into custody,” said Robert Clark, Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal on Thursday.

“Anyone who is found assisting him in his flight will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Pryor was last seen headed toward University Avenue and Civic Center Boulevard, police said Wednesday. He was wearing a blue sweater, blue sweatpants, and no shoes.

He's described as 5-foot-7 and 180 pounds, and his last known address was in the 8200 block of Henry Avenue in Philadelphia's Upper Roxborough section.

A $5,000 reward is offered for information that leads to his arrest.
